"Rockin'"

Colin was given this play guitar last year and just got really interested in it recently. He has even started staying that he wants to "rock" his guitar!

Bike adventures

We are kicking ourselves that we didn't buy this bike trailer last year, as we have had lots of fun adventures already this spring on bike rides. Colin loves the trailer, as he gets zippered in with books, toys, and snacks--and has been known to take a nap along the way. We basically only go biking on trails, not the road, so the trailer works out well and it is built for two, so we can use it next summer, too. We especially like to go on the rail trail from Ayer to Pepperell, which is a beautiful flat ride and I've felt so good lately that I have been able to ride the whole way (16 miles round trip).

Newburyport trip

Memorial Day weekend, we traveled up to Newburyport for their annual spring fest. Here are pictures of last year's trip. As always, we loved walking down by the harbor, browsing through the shops and craft vendors and Colin love exploring the park on the waterfront and the great (shaded!) playground they have right in downtown.

Golfing

Ken's dream of golfing with Colin is starting, first with golf in the yard. Colin is very much like his mother and doesn't want any instructions on how to golf, which is a little frustrating for Ken--but maybe one day he will listen.

Swimming lessons round two

We decided to sign up for another 4 week session of swimming lessons. We saw some progress from weeks 1-4 last time, so we hope he will continue to learn some more this session.

The next swim class after Colin finishes this series uses flotation devices and parents are not in the water along with children. We're going to wait until Colin turns 3 for that class. He certainly has enjoyed this series, however.

Baking

One morning recently, Colin was insistent on baking.

He found the oven mitts.
One for each hand!


He took out a bowl and then asked for the pepper. So we were baking pepper muffins, apparently (muffins are a favorite of Colin's).

Apparently, baking is serious stuff--here he is concentrating on stirring the pepper.

We'll make some real muffins sometime soon!

Driving the "minivan"

Colin was happy to rediscover his car, which he refers to as his "minivan". Please note the winter hat--Colin insisted on wearing his spiderman hat, despite the fact it really wasn't necessary. He asked for gloves, as well, but I declined. He is "fixing" the car here.

Colin has really enjoyed being more affectionate recently. He loves to give hugs and kisses and we sure are enjoying all the love!
